Diarrhea
occurs when the intestine is not able to absorb water from the food taken. The
continued state of diarrhea can lead the patient to lose various minerals from
the body, causing the patient to suffer from extreme weak state. Diarrhea can
be considered as they way in which body releases the germs and lasts a few days
to a week. Diarrhea can occur following after fever, nausea, vomiting, and
dehydration. Well, when it comes to the case of diarrhea in children, parents
can consider the following reasons as the main causes:
Food poisoning: Diarrhea can be due to the kid’s
allergies of some food items that he / she has taken earlier. The symptoms for
this kind usually are like vomiting, and have the tendency to go away within 24
hours.
Infection: This sometime happens to be the most
common reason for diarrhea in children. The infection can either be from
viruses like rotavirus, bacteria like salmonella.
Overeating: Well, overeating too can lead to
diarrhea. Sometimes, body might not tolerate particular food habits.
Medications:
Improper medications like laxatives or antibiotics can lead to diarrhea
in children as well as adults.
Other major reasons for diarrhea in
children are bowel disorder, indigestion, contamination in the intestinal tract
and even infection caused by water. The best way to save the children from
further worsened conditions is to stay him/her rehydrated. For young children,
it is preferred to give oral rehydration solution (ORS). However, when it comes
to the case of infants, offering additional breast milk along with ORS is
preferred. It is because water doesn't possess enough sodium, potassium, and
other nutrients to meet the rehydration process. The following are some of the
natural remedies that can be adopted in order to get away from diarrhea.
Amla: Opt for a fresh juice of amla mixed with lime juice and
sugar is considered to be quite effective for diarrhea.
Ginger: Ginger is such a nice option to be
availed during these hard times. Add one teaspoon of ginger to boiling water
and should be consumed without losing the warmness. Well, it is also prescribed
to take the medications continuously, probably with a time gap of one hour.
Ginger with Lemon: Ginger itself is a great option for curing
the condition of diarrhea and the same can be applied to lemon as well. Mixing
out half teaspoon of both ginger and lime juice apart from quarter teaspoon of
pepper powder has to be consumed twice a day.
Ginger with Curd: If your prime aim is to control
diarrhea, then this one can be a great one. Mixing one teaspoon of ginger juice
with curd combined with mango juice will do the job.
Cumin: You can go for roasting cumin seeds
and adding it along with curd is good for digestion. It has to be consumed
after meals and prevents the patient from further deteriorating condition of
diarrhea.
Buttermilk: Drink buttermilk that is mixed with
black salt and roasted cumin seeds. This helps the patient in managing the
fluid loss.
