Unani is a traditional system of medicine. It was practiced in South Asian Countries and the middle-east. Unani uses natural
methods and uses drugs that are natural. Eating fresh food and drinking clean water
is advised in Unani medicine. It also emphasizes on the importance of
maintaining balance.
Unani has eight specialized branches which include
Gynecology, Obstetrics and Paediatrics, Head and Neck Diseases, Internal
Medicine, Psychiatry, Toxicology, Hydrotherapy and Rejuvenation Therapy. The principles
and theories of Unani consider the key elements of nature such as earth, air,
water, fire and sky. Diagnosis is based on pulse and analyzing urine or stool
of patients.
