Yoga is a disciplinary practice for your whole-body,
originated in India and popular all around the world. The word ‘Yoga’ means ‘Listen’
in Sanskrit language. Yoga is good for your body, mind and spirit. There are different
practices and schools of Yoga in Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism etc. The
United Nations has declared 21st June as International Yoga Day in
their General Assembly.
The practice is more than 5000 years old and is believed to
have originated in 5th or 6th century BCE. Hatha Yoga and
Raja Yoga are the most well-known practices of Yoga. According to Yoga, humans
are three bodies-physical, causal and subtle. They have five sheets- Prana-Breath,
Mind Sheet, Food sheet, Bliss and Intellect. Yoga is a form of exercise and has
become effective for diseases like cancer, heart diseases, asthma,
schizophrenia etc.
