Ayurveda to combat obesity: Wow..! This one has worked out well

Ayurveda has a long tradition of purifying not only our body, but our mind as well. Of late, Ayurveda has emerged as something that can really work wonders for the wholesome wellness of one's body.  We used to flock to medical stores frequently to purchase the medicines that has been playing with our believes for quite some time now. Well, with a long tradition that dates back over 5000 years since now, Ayurveda arguably is one of the most effective and trusted sources for your health problems.

Losing weight has always been one of the most important needs of most of the people for the past some decades in our country. With a perfect blending between the right type of food and a mind for perfection can definitely keep your most dreaded enemy at a distance. The following are some of the tips that were dealt in the Ayurveda books and are advised to be followed.

1. Start the day with freshness: This has a lot to do with our body and mind. Rise early, along with the sun. Following some simple Yoga exercises and meditating for five minutes have proved to work wonders. After all, losing stress means a lot to losing weight as well.

2. Have some fun with warm lemon water: It's a common knowledge that drinking a glass of warm water with lemon in it will stimulate the bowels. As it has nothing to do with acidity or the kind of some false believes roaming around, you can dare to drink a glass of warm lemon water in the morning in order to start the day in style.

3. Control unwanted hunger: It is a well said truth that one who eats once in a day is a Yogi. However, you are not asked to skip the rest of the meals here. But, it has to keep in mind that you could definitely skip unnecessary snacks that eat up your free time in between the regular meals. So, it is always good to have just three meals a day.

4. Don't spice it too much: It has so far turned out to be our tradition to add more spice into our food. We all like to have crispy - spicy - tasty foods. It is better to keep in mind that you could have tasty food even without making the food red hot with various spices. Accommodating all the traditional tastes, such as sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent, in your food can help your digestive system in a big way. All of these tastes are categorized into 'anabolic' and 'catabolic' - quite essentials for our body.

5. Medium - Large - Small formula: Start off the day with a medium meal i.e., breakfast. For lunch, you are entitled for a large meal. However, don't misunderstand this as license to something that is extra large....! For dinner, as it you might have heard, make it small and short.

6. Walk - rest - walk: Well, this has proved in the past...! Many of us must have heard about the tradition of taking some short walks just after your meals at breakfast and supper. In the mean time, you are advised to take a short nap for 10 minutes while after the lunch (lie towards the left side).

As is said before, all these have been the things that were repeated thousand times by ancestors to younger generation. It is really important to have a look down at the past in order to have a bright future up before.
